 Footprint analysis is used in forensic science, When found as evidence they check the footprint for different design/patterns/tread, arch, Length/width, shape and the wear in the design. which can be very helpful information when solving a crime. They can also find DNA on the print to find out about the person who left the print things such as what type of shoe the brand and the size. With this information they can also be able to tell what time the print was left.
