1. Find a quote from the main person in this news article? Create a world record for people speaking and celebrating an endangered, Indigenous language.
2. In your own words describe what happened in this news article. In this article they talked about Māori Language Week and about stopping what you’re doing for just a few moments to celebrate Māori language week they also gave a few suggestions of what you can do to celebrate Māori language.
3. Find out where this event took place and include some information about this place. The place the article is set in is New Zealand and about how not as many people in New Zealand speak it very often and how there are barely any people who know te Reo Māori.
4. Tell us when this event happened and explain what might happen in the future. This happened this year in 2021 hopefully in the future a larger percentage of people will be able to speak Māori.
5. Explain in your own words why this event took place. This event took place because Māori is becoming one of the languages that is not spoken as often and for being one of New Zealand’s main languages it’s not spoken or celebrated as much anymore.
